Day 1
Departing USA for Santo Domingo. Upon arrival in Santo Domingo, our bilingual guide will be waiting for us at the airport to take us to the hotel for check-in and to brief you on the tour’s activities. A welcome beverage is included.
Enjoy a huge breakfast buffet, with many different origins of food. The Mizuno Friendship Series baseball tournament begins. After the games, we will go to the city to visit the “Three Eyes” and explore the remarkable underground pools of crystal-clear water. In the evening, a team dinner will be arranged at the “Las Olas” Restaurant, which sits right on the beach with a beautiful view of the Caribbean. Enjoy the rest of the day on the incredible white sandy beaches just steps from your hotel room.
Day 2
Day 3
Breakfast. Mizuno Friendship Series continues in the morning. Sightseeing of the “Columbus Lighthouse” after the game. Return to the Hotel for an afternoon of fun in the sun. There are many beach activities included with your package. The magnificent beach boasts turquoise water and a glorious view. Try one of the beach activities including snorkeling, paddle boat, banana boat, scuba lessons, sailing, or other activities included.
After Breakfast, the tournament continues. If you would like to show your appreciation to the local sports community, you will have the option to provide a clinic for the local children of a very poor community nearby. This will be a great opportunity for you to directly interact with the local people and experience their lifestyle. We do this with our select teams and the players think that is one of the best parts of the whole tour. We highly recommend spending a couple of hours helping the kids. Today we will take a city tour of Santo Domingo. Discover the oldest city in the New World, founded by the Conquistadors in 1496. See the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor, the first in the Americas, where the remains of Christopher Columbus are buried. Visit Columbus' Alcazar, a beautiful palace built for Diego, the son of the discoverer, where you can admire the elegant lifestyle of colonial times. Close by is the Atarazana, a lovely and picturesque street typical of the XVI century, which now houses gift shops, boutiques, and Art Galleries and where we will stop briefly for refreshments. Our tour continues through the most important churches, buildings, and parks of this colonial town, once ransacked by pirates and recently restored to its past glory.
Day 4
Day 5
After Breakfast, depart for the Finals of the tournament. Today you will have the opportunity to shop for some very inexpensive gifts at the Santo Domingo Open Market. Here you will be able to barter with the local salespeople for the best prices on your favorite souvenirs. In the afternoon, you can enjoy the beach or one of the two pools at your hotel. The nightclub is open until 2 am.
Enjoy your last day on the beach. Option activities can be scheduled today if desired.
